This is something I actually heard from a close friend, and that tragically, I can understand. Driving to work, being stuck somewhere out of your comfort zone and into a place to behave, and then driving back exhausted, it's not a pleasant life for a lot of people.

Some works have chosen to keep working remotely out of comfort (mine included), but it speaks something when introverts turn out to be the healthiest during the lockdown, while everyone else is so desperate to get back to normal, they'd rather go through those same soul-draining policies, over finding a viable alternative.

I feel like a weird introvert, because I really cannot stand working from home. I feel really boxed in by it.

See, I don't mind working from home at all. What got to me was the inability to go out and interact with other people OUTSIDE of work. I'm totally fine with working from home as long as I can go out and socialize in non-work settings, which we couldn't during the pandemic.

AYRT

For me, I tend not to socialize much outside of work. That actually could be more stressful/overstimulating for me than work socialization. On top of that, I tend to connect more strongly to places than people. So yeah, I ended up missing my office building.

I feel the same way. Interacting at work is good, social interaction outside of work is draining and causes anxiety. I like spending my evenings at home, but then when working from home I never end up getting any socialization and end up feeling very trapped.

Same, I was boxed in. Also I was boxed up with fixed amount of people one of whose was essential worker so A LOT of anxiety.

Same. I wound up getting a new job just to go back into an office because I was going absolutely nuts. I can't do it.
