I think her criticism has some weight in terms of the actor being too old for some roles and then he uses PS/Botox to remain looking young. It's part of society at large valuing youth and placing pressure/expectation on actors/famous people to look young for as long as possible.

Keeping the same actors playing lead roles can screw over younger actors wanting to get hired.

Not to say it's all fair and legit with all her criticisms.

Seems like she doesn't think harder on her criticisms and how they can be contradictory.

I view the whole possible plastic surgery/Botox in order to keep looking young thing as a personal decision. I don't like what it says about the TV/movie industry, but I think the lion's share of the blame lies with the industry. Snarking at the actors seems unkind, and low hanging fruit.

"Keeping the same actors playing lead roles can screw over younger actors wanting to get hired."

LOL. I mean, sure, but there's no shortage of cdramas featuring younger actors, and I'd be extremely surprised to hear that older actors stealing roles from younger actors in this context was a problem. I don't even think he was too old for Sword and Brocade, the show in question. At the time, he was 46 years old, which is hardly ancient in the first place. His character is a famous general with a significant military history, and multiple wives/concubines along with children. This is not necessarily a role for a 25 year old man. I think AvenueX is being a little catty about the age thing.
