Well, 9-1-1 has a canon Black lesbian couple, Hen and Karen, (and Josh, a canonically gay White man who is a supporting character), but I would bet that most of the fandom is focused on two male characters have only canonically dated women, Buck, a White man, and Eddie, a Latino man, who a lot of fandom headcanon as bi.

9-1-1 Lone Star fandom is probably a little better since the juggernaut pairing is the canon gay male couple who are and White and Latino. But I bet we won't hear anywhere near as much about Paul, the canon Black trans man.

It is absolutely fine for fandom to like who they like, of course, but maybe for celebrating Pride month and the strides made in media, it would be a good thing to focus on all of the canon LGBTQ+ characters.

OP

Yes! That's what I meant. I like headcanons and have them too. I also don't relate to a lot of Canon representation. But I think Canon characters need more recognition during pride, mostly because it's not only about how relatable they are, but how they push for more representation and because of it deserve to be celebrated for it over a non-canon-queer character that 9/10 is already confirmed as cishet anyway.
