I had a similar experience. I found an old hard drive and found all sorts of old fic I totally forgot about writing, including some I actually posted on ff.net. Went and yup, they are still there. And actually have more kind comments than I would have expected! While the writing is obviously clunky the overall fic is okay and I've toyed with the idea of re-writing/updating it, but it's for a dead fandom that nobody will read. Still thinking of doing it just for me.
