Some scenes I am aware of that were but but are important (or change the overall movie).

The unicorn scene from Blade Runner.
A ton in Prometheus that would have explained what the white alien dudes were doing.
There is a scene cut from Independence Day that would have explained why Goldblum was able to hack into an alien ship.

There is another movie I can't remember the name of that cuts a character but then has the other people refer to them (or their actions). But I can't remember who the hell it is.

FWIW I'm pretty sure the unicorn scene is an example of something that Ridley Scott always wanted in the movie and that was taken out of the movie by studio executives.

It is very, very clear that the theatrical version of Blade Runner is not the version that Ridley Scott wanted at the time.
