Orange soap. Don’t use Goo Gone straight off, buy some Bronner’s citrus first and apply the soap to a paper towel. You want a paper towel that’s more paper than towel and has some texture. Very gently scrub the spot and add more soap to your towel as needed to soak the sticky spot. Let it sit 30-60 minutes and then scrub gently with a clean dry paper towel. If residue remains, do the same process but with Goo Gone. The most important thing is to only apply either liquid to your paper towel and not your book.
