Sticky stuff attracts other sticky stuff, so if I take a sticker off something and it leaves residue, I'll use the same sticker to like, press it against the spot, then lift it off really quick, sort of like a dabbing kind of motion? And then keep doing that until it's gone.

Ideally, you want to use something with the same kind of adhesive, so if you can get your hands on some stickers, even like kids' ones with smiley faces, those should work the best, but if not try to get tape with a fairly strong adhesive.

It should work to get rid of the sticky residue without damaging the book.

I'll have to give that a try - probably I have something adhesive enough around here....
