SG1's mission, as stated by Gen. Hammond was to "hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards". Atlantis seemed to be "what warcrime can we commit today?". Starting to think it was less that it recruited Earth's brightest and best, and more that they just rounded up all the assholes nobody else wanted to deal with and shipped them to another galaxy out of the way.

So, maybe instead of a full-on reboot they should do another series with a similar premise. And the people in charge are like, "Last time this happened, we wound up with the jackass brigade committing war crimes across the galaxy. Under McKay's Law, we're now required to..."

Ironically, McKay, the acknowledged asshole in the party, was one of the more heroic and ethical characters.

And he got the Law named after him anyway. That's what happens when you're a dick to the people who name these things.

OMG WHUT????? You mean the guy who quickly flipped a switch in the brains of the humorless bots and ended up spawning a genocide of humans across the Pegasus Galaxy? Because there's no time to think about consequences! That Rodney McKay? The one who, with Daniel Jackson, triggered the Atero device and spawned *another* genocide across the Pegasus Galaxy? Millions of humans killed bec of him poking around thinking he was so damned smart? The McKay who destroyed 3/5th (or was it 5/8ths) of a Solar System because he couldn't admit he wasn't sure he could control a deadly superweapon?????? And it turned out NO he couldn't! THAT Rodney McKay????? God he's such a war crime walking.

That show was so much fun, but yeah if you thought too hard about it the plots were just awful. They were a bunch of terrorists in the new galaxy. Such fun characters, such shitty writing/plots. I'd love a reboot. Maybe without the Wraith.

Oh, man, this. Atlantis had so much potential, then there the crew goes, charging in being all colonizer/Ugly American all over the place. It was so fucking depressing.

There's a reboot I could get behind!
