(Anonymous) 2023-06-17 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)But I do get the sentiment of there aren't really any exchanges of thoughts, ideas, and engaging with one another. It feels like throwing my thoughts out into the void.
I've griped in the past about how frustrating it's become lately to talk to online friends about things we're into, Squid Game being the most prominent example.
I was waiting for a lot of fandom spaces to pop up, my friends and I to talk at length about themes on the show, characters, ships, show theories, etc
But all I really got out of it were YouTube video reviews and friends telling me they completed the show and whether they liked the show or not and who they were rooting to win/die.
=/
So yeah, it's just...I don't even fucking know what the point is to talk to people anymore. I really feel everyone wants to be heard but no one wants to listen. And those who do listen can only listen until they realize the only way to get the people taling to STFU is to start talking, just to stop hearing the noises of other people talking.
The social disconnect is really fucking exhausting.
