None of the characters look prepubescent, so I guess this is the usual casual racism against Asians for being shorter and thinner (and sometimes younger looking) on average compared to other ethnicities?

no offense but adult Asian people don't look like that either. They definitely look like how anime normally draw teen/young adult protagonists.
