You'd think, but they slowly brought the show around to say that she was wrong about everything and really she just needed the love of a good man and a baby and eeeeugh I can't even finish this sentence, the show went to bad bad places.

Yes, I think it has great potential! Only I've never found a fic with any of that. A few that looked like they would, but nope, it all turned into requited love.

I mean, imagine a Hannibal hanahaki fic! Amazing.

I've never seen this movie either, but keep meaning to since it's a classic and because Scorcese said that this scene in particular features his own mother (playing Joe Pesci's character's mom) and it's mostly improv with very few scripted lines. I don't know, it just sounded sweet to me.

Like the other commenters, I'm cynical and think they were okay with it for several factors:

1) conventionally attractive white lady
2) beefy all-American religious dude
3) the possibility of romance and conversion where the atheist learns the error of her ways


I quit watching the show after a few seasons because the writing and characterization were so weak and inconsistent, but it sounds like Bones ended up pregnant so... yeah. I bet that demographic was okay with it.

I'm not as organized as you, but... yep. I hear about books and think oh, that sounds cool! Then I note down the title/author, acquire them *cough* and then they just sit there unread while I keep searching for recs OR reread an old fave. I can't fully explain it either, except that unconsciously, I don't have the energy to pay attention to something completely new AND I'm frequently disappointed on the occasions I do try it, so I'm not enthusiastic about reading new books. But I still like the IDEA of exploring new books.

This is me but with video games. I have games on my Steam libarary I've never played that I got a decade ago. But no, gotta replay a game I've already played multiple times already instead.

This picture is so upsetting. Right on par for how upsetting I find hanahaki in general.

On topic, I'll never read it but it sounds like a great fic idea! I always like turning a trope around like that.

I was really disappointed how often it's portrayed that the Catholic side kick is the smart one and Bones is just the science lady who doesn't know about real world knowledge, but they probably love that too.

Slowly working my way through my To Read list! I just got side tracked, but now I'm back on it.

I also have a To Play and To Watch list that barely get any attention these days. I keep adding to them, but they sit there collecting dust the poor things.
