(Anonymous) 2023-06-24 04:05 am (UTC)(link)I think they're good at that in general. They're very conscious of the possibility of turning into schtick. I know they've done stuff based on that in the past - for example, there haven't been very many individual tasks in recent seasons, and it's an intentional choice they made because they thought people were getting too clued-in to the gag. Or how they've pulled back on a lot of the "Little Alex Horne" stuff.
The people in charge of the show are astoundingly good at their jobs, basically. It's a really interesting comparison when you look at GBBO and how that's been the last few years.
