I thought it was funny at first but it's a bit less funny the longer it goes on. Not for any problematic reasons, just because the show's been on for some time and the joke gets old.

I get what you mean, but I think they do a pretty good job at mixing it up and not leaning into it all the time.

I think they're good at that in general. They're very conscious of the possibility of turning into schtick. I know they've done stuff based on that in the past - for example, there haven't been very many individual tasks in recent seasons, and it's an intentional choice they made because they thought people were getting too clued-in to the gag. Or how they've pulled back on a lot of the "Little Alex Horne" stuff.

The people in charge of the show are astoundingly good at their jobs, basically. It's a really interesting comparison when you look at GBBO and how that's been the last few years.

Oh, I still find their interactions funny and the show is great, no problems there. It's just... a bit less funny to me. I'd be glad if they mixed it up more, but they still make me laugh.

GBBO on the other hand, I've just drifted away from. Mexican week was the last straw.

Right but that's exactly my point! GBBO is a perfect example of what happens when you have lazy production that doesn't have any clue how to put the people on screen into position to succeed and just falls apart into lazy schtick.

If the Taskmaster guy was still in charge of GBBO there's no way they would have done something like Mexican Week.

I completely disagree with this, I'd be so sad if they stopped acting like that. Never gets old for me!

Same here, I love it!

I love them so much. I think it works for me because of the combo of weird fake intense bdsm mixed with their very genuine love for each other.
