Hey. I'm the DA from upthread, and what you're describing sounds rough. I'm friends with a woman whose husband really isn't moving on from covid, and is accusing anyone who goes out, even now, of heinous disregard for the lives of the disabled. It's taking quite a toll on her mental health. But I didn't realize there were whole communities that grabbed onto it like that.

And yeah, it's a problem: IME, for years, the sorts of accusations the far right lobbed around were complete nonsense. Tabloid as fuck, "Planned Parenthood sells organs from aborted fetuses for big bucks on the black market!" levels of *complete waste of time to investigate.* So, it's gotten to the point that many leftists go "if I've literally never heard of it, that's probably because Fox news and ilk made it up whole cloth. What with their well known complaint about FACTS having a liberal bias." Which makes it that much harder to listen when someone's got an actual complaint that hasn't really gotten airtime.
