(Anonymous) 2023-06-28 12:03 am (UTC)(link)In a post-apocalyptic setting where people *care* for each other, plenty of disabled people will do just fine-- will survive whether or not they 'contribute', even, though depending on the person and the apocalypse, some of us will be better suited than others.
You *could* have a post-apocalyptic story where people work on doing what they have to to keep being able to re-create life-saving medications, honestly. And I've definitely read/seen post-apocalypse where finding a supply of insulin was a plot point, even if the character was working for short term survival more than long term. But *certainly* having a mobility aid is not a death sentence.
