I don't usually find Star Trek medical stories very compelling because they rarely make it clear what the stakes are and why they can cure disease X but not disease Y and the technobabble overwhelms the story. But remote area medicine would solve a lot of those problems! Like, "we can cure this guy in five minutes if we get him back to a station/ship with a full medbay, but here we have to use these small shuttles, so we're going to have to improvise a way to keep him alive!" and "oh no the engine's gone out!" and all the other fun stuff that the Flying Doctors dealt with on the show and also deal with in real life.

Fucked up, definitely. As for incomprehensible, I'm watching it and while I can't say I understand 100% of what is going on, it's nowhere near the wtf level of the last few eps of Evangelion.

I thought it was wonderfully weird until ep 10, upon which imo it turned into garbage, largely because it stopped being so weird and original and got more predictable. I haven't seen the final ep of the season yet but I'm not expecting it to get better. It's definitely hella weird, and I liked it that way.

I didn't mind everybody being bi in DA2 because there were only 4 possible romances at all* and every hole in the "realism" of the game's narrative has long been handwaved as "oh well Varric's an unreliable narrator so it doesn't matter".

DAI had twice as many possible options, and I preferred the romances being species/gender locked the way they were. Every possible combination of Inquisitor still had at least four to choose from. If Dreadwolf is going to only have two or three possible romances, fine, make them bi. But if there's going to be eight or more like in DAI, I don't see a problem with them being gender or species locked again.

*not counting paying for the token straight guy that didn't even get a full romance scene

I don't know about that. A character's sexuality can add to them as a character. A gay character's perspective won't be the same as a straight character's, and neither of those will be the same as a bi character's, or an ace character's. You can't just replace any of them with another without impacting everything else; that only works if your design philosophy is that the characters only exist for the sake of the player. Which is true, of course, but the point of the story and characters is to make a convincing illusion that the world exists with or without you, and you're just getting a peek.

Fully agreed. I hated the romance system/locked options in DAI and especially how unfairly the options were distributed. You had so many more options as a bi female human or elf character than anyone else. And options for a gay male character sucked in my eyes.

To each their own. I just watched them and am genuinely impressed by how beautiful (and beautifully eerie) they are. I can't believe the MCU in 2023 actually produced something that made me lean forwards, captivated.

I had zero interest in Secret Invasion. Because of those credits, I now have a modicum of interest.

Don't know who Doug Wilson is but yeah, wouldn't mind if more of these corrupt assholes pretending to be wholesome would be exposed. Not sure it'd do anything in the end, but it'd be nice if most people would stop worshiping them or pretend they're some kind of moral standard for humanity to live up to.
