Ranty preachy tags honestly. Just . Ughh. Stuff like "if you ship x dni". Or "if you read this in a shippy way I'll kill you" or "x Character is the worst and needs to die"

It's not your soapbox is just a way to content label your fic

Also using "Dead Dove Do Not Eat" for something like a 2 year age gap between adults . The whole damn purpose of that tag is to quarantine the dark shit. You say we don't warn/shove dark stuff in your face?

Dead Dove is literally the warning. And often comes with other tags and often is a way to say "we mean those tags this is gonna be dark". Don't water it down if you're serious about protecting people/minors.

I've been on AO3 basically since the beginning and have never seen this, but it is a huge archive. People are actually putting shit like this in the tags for their fic???

I mean I've seen people in fanfic communities talking about it and I've seen a few tags like that when friends linked me like "wtf is this?" So i guess.

But yeah it's crazy isn't it? Tho tbh i gotta laugh now when I see their threats of killing bc like "dude my rl name is so common it's basically Jane Smith or something good fucking luck finding me

The watering down of Dead Dove is really what gets me more mad tbh. Dead Dove is not for antis who think that an age gap between adults similar to me and my own RL SO are "Dark" and "fucked up" . It's for people who are able and willing to engage in fiction like healthy adults with a healthy boundary between fiction and reality.
