Though, to be fair, I've seen this in a lot of communities where a fraction of it thinks it represents what everyone in their group thinks and feels, for various reasons.
I've lost count of how many times I've seen survivors of sexual abuse in fandom pick a fight with someone who they assume is an evil rapist writing rape "for titillation" or "to glorify it," and heap abuse on another survivor who writes rapefics. I think everyone has a right to write dark themes, regardless of what they've experienced. Living in a culture where rape exists means a lot of people think about it and have feelings, and want to grapple with them at the safe remove of "I'm sort of in control and it's not happening to me right now." But the crusading seems to overwhelmingly involve survivors attacking more-stigmatized survivors.
