Re: Least Favorite AO3 tag when searching fanfics?
It does bewilder me when people tag fic with the pronouns they're using for the character. I guess it strikes me like the trans headcanon thing, except most often in one of my fandoms I see it with a canonically genderfluid character - so it comes off like they want to show off how inclusive they're being, but "trans headcanon" would be pointless since it's ACTUAL CANON. But then other times people just do things like "she/her pronouns for X" when X in canon has never shown any suggestion of being anything other than a man, or wanting to be anything other than a man, and while "trans headcanon" makes sense to me because hey it's headcanon and people headcanon all kinds of things... just switching pronouns and tagging THAT seems odd.
