I don’t see any point to remaking Buffy tbh, the lore has it built right in that you can just have a new slayer. Or lots of them. And they don’t have to be cisgirls, the comics already set the stage for that. A Buffy remake would change all the characters leaving them just with their names from original show, which is one of the reasons why most remakes fail. At least the show was a continuation of the movie and while they recast all the roles, the characters stayed the same and the movie events weren’t retconned. I shudder to think how a remake would handle everything that’s come before, especially the comics.
