Yes! Thank you! I've been wanting to make a secret like this myself. There are characters in a certain fandom that I want to read about, but they are surprise trans in so many fics; I don't even attempt to look for any anymore. I once saw one vaguely tagged as "Alternate character interpretation" — which doesn't cut it imo. Just tag the fic properly.

Seriously. And what's really obnoxious is when they're gender non-conforming, and that's the exact reason umpteen people thought it would just "make more sense" if this boy was a girl or vice versa. It's very wearisome if you liked the character without feeling compelled to remove the percieved discrepancy between their personality and the stereotype for their gender. Feminine men don't need to believe they're women, for goodness sake! And masculine women neither. They can be so hot just the way they are. And we already get too few characters that own that comfortably, so when fandom messes with it, I just feel like flipping tables.
