I liked both.

Enjoyed Peggy/Angie for the meet-cute bff's to lovers angle and enjoyed Peggy/Dottie for the enemies to reluctant allies to lovers angle. They both have their merits as ships.

IDK. Part of it for me is that I never found Dottie that interesting as a villain.

But I also think Peggy/Angie really does work well as a ship. Angie is a really fun character. She has the whole feisty, sparky, punchy, working class 50s thing going on. She's a fun character.

Plus, that American feisty working class thing already works well as a fun contrast with Peggy being all British and classy. And the shipping dynamics also work really well emotionally. Peggy is really reserved; shipping her with someone who's as open as Angie makes sense. Peggy is guilty and traumatized and keeps herself within a shell; Angie is someone who can comfort her and get her to open up. I want to ship Peggy with someone she can trust, with someone who is the person she can feel comfortable with and begin to love again and all of that smushy stuff. Angie is great for that.

In conclusion now I want to go and re-read some Peggy/Angie fic.

You do realize that not everyone is into enemy ships? I'm just not that into villains, tried it, not my cuppa. More power to you, though.

I don’t even remember who Angie is.

YOU'RE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD SAY IT

I was shocked by how little screentime Angie got and how little she ever actually knew about Peggy when I actually watched the show. I get that some people prefer wholesome ships to enemy ships but it still baffles me how tilted the ratio was.

100% agree! But are you really surprised that femslashers prefer the uwu soft ship? I mean even when fandom goes for an enemies to lovers ship, that's what they turn it into...

To me it was the opposite - I never got why Peggy/Dottie was so popular when Angie was right there.

This isn’t really related to either ships.

But I’ve never seen Agent Carter, and for some reason I thought that Dottie was the same person as Bucky’s girlfriend mentioned in Winter Soldier, because her name was Dolores but he called her Dot. So I was curious about her not only being expanded upon, but being a villain! Then I looked it up, and now I feel dumb...

I shipped Peggy/Dottie, but, especially in first season, I don't see why Peggy/Angie wouldn't be popular? Angie is a peppy, tough blonde with Ambition, Peggy is a classy, sad, brunette with Secrets, together they fight crime etc.

i think it really just depends on what part of fandom you were in. my side was all dottie/peggy (and although I did like angie, the secret angle has to be revealed pretty quick for me to like actually ship it in spy stuff).

I thought Angie was so overrated. I didn't hate her, but I didn't love her nearly as much as the rest of the fandom. She was Just Fine.

Like a bunch of anons here, I also liked both! They both hit different vibes for different moods, and more f/f options are always good in my book.

Also, Dottie showing up as an option in Peggy's musical "which love interest do I choose oh no...!" dream sequence did my little shipper heart good, ngl.
