What are some all-time favorite ships that you're not actively into right now, but you can always fall back on when you're in the mood? And why do you like them?

It's been too long since I've seen the source material to do any kind of proper media analysis, so I'll just say that they like being together. They enjoy each other and are comfortable together.

Buffy/Angel/Spike in any combo. Also Spike/Drusilla/Angelus/Darla in any combination. I'm not reading Buffy fics these days, but when I am in the mood then these are the pairings I look for.

Doctor/River, Doctor/Master or Missy, and Amy/Rory for Doctor Who.

Basically every single ship in Legend of the Seeker. Not active in the fandom anymore, but when I'm in the mood I'll read anything. Every ship in this show works for me and every ship is hot.

Jonathan/Dio from JJBA. I have fond memories of being absolutely insane in 2020 and being obsessed with that series.

One of my oldest ships is Takeru/Hikari (or TK/Kari ofc) from Digimon ... every time they drag the first + second group of kids out for a sequel I think "Maybe this time..." and I'm always disappointed.
I'm totally fine with my ships not going canon now most of the time but child!me was so crushed that I can't help it.
I think I'll forever ship them, no matter my or their age.
(They're one of my prime examples of "I'm sorry that my ship isn't aging with me" when people act like adults shipping kids is creepy.)

Avon/Tarrant and Tarrant/Vila from Blakes 7, my first slash ships. There wasn't a whole lot of fic for them, but what there was tended to be very good.

Outgrowing ships is unusual here. It’s harder to mention a ship I outgrew than it is to mention a ship I have liked for a while. Having said this I am ALWAYS in the mood for my Ace Attorney and Free! slash ships, among other fandoms.

Will/Bran from The Dark is Rising. Pretty sure that fandom is very dead by now though but I still remember that time fondly.
Same for Hornblower/Bush from the Horatio Hornblower books/series. Still super sad we don't have more episodes.
