(Anonymous) 2023-07-01 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)OTOH don't think a) is half the issue everyone makes it out to be, because summaries that are only the boxes a character ticks are very, very rare unless you exclusively read small webcomics or something. Your example summary of something you'd be interested in reading is the norm. Go to Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB or Goodreads. I've heard too many people say they want a good story with characters who happen to tick boxes, only to turn up their nose at a summary like the one you posted because they ignored everything in it but the ticked boxes.
