Some of the new Pixar movies are too kiddie IMHO.

Isn't that the audience though? (Honest question.)

Something like Toy Story can appeal to both kids and adults, some of their later movies seem squarely aimed at only kids, and very little kids at that.

DA
Exactly. There is a difference between all ages which can appeal to kids, and kid focused. Pixar has slid too much to the latter, while still trying to feel like it is hitting the same emotional beats for the former, and their movies have become pretty emotionally shallow as a result. Ironically, it is kids who pick up on emotional shallowness first.

Yeah Soul was totally too kiddie!/s

To be clear, I didn't much care for Soul.

I liked Soul a lot, but I feel like it’s the exception to the rule of mostly-kiddy modern Pixar movies. Besides maybe Incredibles 2 and Turning Red, which I enjoyed a lot too.
