Not having a female protagonist until Brave, casts being very gender-skewed towards male characters, sometimes having a token female love interest who didn't really do anything important. But that's all basic problems you can find in most media, so I can't think of anything that makes Pixar worse.

You could make a solid argument that, while they may not have been the protagonist in their movies, Jessie the Cowgirl and Helen Parr were each a protagonist in their movies. But over all - yeah.

DA Yeah, they're actually not too bad with their main characters, but they do fall back on lazy stereotyping outside of that, especially of mothers. I don't think it's worse than most, it just seems very unimaginative for a company that can be so imaginative.
