It was essentially a new story with the same characters, rather than telling the graphic novel story exactly as is. I happened to like the new story just as much, so I didn't mind, but it's definitely not a 1:1 adaptation.

IMO, it's going so far from "faithful" that it's not useful to even compare, and that's okay.
