What time to you go to bed and what time to you have to wake up?

(Anonymous) 2023-07-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
generally speaking.

I get up around 7am and try to have lights out by 10pm but usually lately it's more like midnight.

go to bed around 1:30, wake up around 8:30 or 8:45

this is, frankly, not ideal

Usually try to be going to sleep by 9, 10 at the latest. I get up around 7. I usually wake up several times at night so I need to allow for that.

I wake up whenever my elderly dog deems it time to get up, which can be anywhere between 6 to 7:30am. I am honestly usually in bed by 9 in the summer and 7 in the winter because as soon as it's dark my brain thinks it's time for bed. Not exactly the healthiest in winter.

Go to bed at 4-5 AM, WAKE UP AT 1-2 PM
I've been trying to adjust my routine for a very long time, but I guess this is my biological clock IDK
It was better when I lived in a different time zone. Then I was 10PM 7AM.

Do you have a night shift job or a job you can do at anytime?

I have a friend that has a job where it's just "log 40hrs and get the work done" and it doesn't matter when that happens and she has a very 'backwards' schedule kind of like what you described. Socially it sucks, but otherwise she says she loves it.

NAYRT
As someone who's always had a difficult time with sleep your friend's schedule sounds so nice! Being able to log in whenever you want, so long as you get your 40 hours in, I would love that.

Depends on the time of year. In the summer, the light wakes me up around 5:30-6:00am so I end up going to bed around 9-9:30pm. In the winter, I'll get up around 7:00am so I end up going to bed around 10:30-11:00pm.

I wake up at 530 am and go to bed anywhere between 10 and 1130 pm. I feel I'm pretty normal?

Yeah seems pretty healthy adult standard.

I go to bed around 10pm, falling asleep around 11pm-midnight.

And I usually get up anywhere from 3am-7am. What time I wake up is different pretty much everyday. I haven’t been able to sleep past 8am in years. Ever since the change in my circadian rhythm.

I stay up until 4am and then I have to be up at 9am. sometimes I stay up later. I don't know why I do this to myself.

I have the worst schedule, seriously. So,in the summer, during the work week, I get up between 5:30 and 6AM, and the goal is to be in bed before 11. I have limited success at this. On the weekends/holidays, wake-up time is between 6 and 7, bedtime is basically the same.

I have a really hard time getting up when it's dark outside, so late autumn through early spring is kind of a bitch. Work weeks I still need to be up before 7, but 6:30-7 is usually the best I can manage. It's dark for so long in the late afternoon/evening that I basically have got my second wind before it's a normal time to go to bed, and if I get to bed before midnight it's a marvel. Weekends I sleep in until at least 8AM.

This is not a good way to live if you have to have a job. Do not recommend. 3/10.

Depends.
Winter usually 12/12-20 at night and around 8 in the morning. Lighter months just before midnight to around 7. I do not use alarms.
Right now it's a bit hot and I need to sleep with an open window so my schedule is absolutely wacky. It's unbearably noisy starting around 4 or 5. But I can't get myself to sleep at least before 1 in the night (sorry using a.m. /p.m system just weirds me out) so my nights always fluctuate to hell and back through summer. Should probably try using A/C since now I have one (yay!) but it's noisy too and I don't like stillnes of processed air. Argh

I aim to go to bed around 1:00 AM, and I wake up at 9:00 AM at the latest, though lately I've been waking up a bit earlier fairly often.

I have Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder, and I spent most of my adult life not being able to sleep before at least 5:00 AM, and getting up in the afternoon whenever possible. Then around two years ago I got onto a medication that helped me to significantly advance my sleep schedule, and I'm still so grateful for the change. 1—9 may seem like a night-owl to a lot of people, but holy shit I feel like such an early-bird, and I am very proud of myself about it!

Lights out: 930-11

Lights on: 0600 on work days, 7-noon on days off.

But also it's 10:35 right now so I should really make good on that deadline.

I work graveyard so ideally I go to bed before/by noon (but I generally go to bed around 2PM) and I wake up around 9PM. I'm trying to wake up earlier because I like to be out of the house around 9:30 (but I usually leave around 9:47).

Up at 5:30ish and to bed anywhere from 11pm to 1am.

Get up around 4 or 5, try to go to bed around 8 but often stay up a good deal later. On days off I like to sleep in sometimes. I used to really struggle with being able to sleep at all, let alone at specific times, so I'm happy I can keep a reasonably regular schedule now.
