I don't mind your *talking* about your favorite YouTube channels on fandom secrets, but if you're really posting about them to try to promote them, that seems kind of inappropriate to me.

Eh. Lots of people make secrets about fandoms they enjoy and one of their hopes is to find other people who enjoy them or interest other people. I think it's fine.

"Why" would be because this secret is entirely about promoting YT channels to strangers as an alternative to annoying their spouse.

I'd been wondering why we were getting secret after secret about YouTube channels, when a lot of it doesn't have any obvious connection to fandom. Most of these YT secrets make no sense to me, on top of being about something on a platform I avoid.

I'd been guessing the people interacting with this (whatever it is) weren't a large/organized enough group to squee or gripe in their own comm. But I'm not amused that it's actually someone wishing they weren't so alone in their viewing habits, and dressing that up in the garb of Fandom!Secrets essentially just because people congregate here.

Not sure why it seems reasonable to you, TBH.

There may not be obvious connections on FandomSecrets, but at least on the YouTube channels I follow a lot of comments sections reflect organic fandoms that have grown out of recurring themes/gags in the creators' videos. I'd say that kind of activity is very much a fandom.
