that was my secret - it's hard to put an exact pin in _why_ but this is the general area
- has what I think of as 'reddit syndrome where everyone 1-ups unfunny jokes with even more unfunny jokes
- they're really into the characters fucking which is FINE, I'm the problem here
- because the comic swings so wildly between trauma-plot and light hijinks, the commentary treats the hijinks as traumatic
- endless, endless moralising about how terrible everyone's parents are.
- addresses the characters directly to tell them why what they're doing is a bad idea OR makes up full scenes with dialogue.


The problem is me! These people are having fun and have a community that they're presumably getting something out of! ahhhh

(me again) - mods feel free to delete if I'm not allowed to directly quote this kind of thing, but there's a comment on today's post which is "Ugh, this actually brings up so many disturbing concepts such as does [character] have an abuse fantasy for her daughter."
Does it? DOES IT?? Go read A Child Called It if you want to wring your hands helplessly about terrible parents. ughhhhhhhhhh

It just makes my shoulderblades itch. gah
