I'm kind of like that with cdramas. Unless the plot/acting/writing is stellar from the get go, i.e. Nirvana in Fire, then I need eye candy because idol dramas tend to be a bit light in the plot/writing/acting department. The eye candy tides me over until the plot gets good again!

Ok,this comment made me get it, because while I'm not a cdrama guy (just haven't checked any out yet, seems like the kind of thing I might enjoy though) I do feel this way with cheesy TV where sometimes it's just not entertaining as it is but I zone out and watch for the hot people during those bits, I'll be honest. When I'm watching purely for entertainment, there is totally a part of me that is happy to watch for eye candy. But I don't feel as strongly as OP! It's more of a take it or leave it thing to me.
