I mean, if I had to choose between kudos and getting no interaction on my fics, I'd take the kudos all day any day. At least this way I know people liked what I wrote enough to press that button, otherwise I never get comments and there's no other way to judge if people liked it.

DA

The thing about centrists is that there's a whole variety of stances. I'm somewhat more of a left leaning centrist (even though the Pew Research party identifier pegs me as ambivalent right). This means I actually support a less ardent wing of the Democratic Party and find that the Democratic Party at least tolerable from the perspective of "do not let perfection get in the way of good".

Figured I'd throw an example out there to broaden how you view the term centrist.

All of this

Well done for not just replying with an emoji.

+1!

Exactly! The "ultimate meh" would be *the backbutton*. If you look at your hitcount, and you're getting far more hits than kudos... THAT's people giving "the ultimate meh". But, as explained above - kudos are PRAISE. It's meant as a way of letting the author know you liked what they did without having to type up and hit send on "well done" - reading anything else into it - especially something negative! - is ... very bizarre to me.

I am being sarcastic, yeah, but specifically about the "comments are always better than kudos no matter what" idea OP espouses. I do love a nice "<3" in my inbox, same as I love a nice kudos.
