It's due to Stampede, he's extremely cute (even cuter than in Trimax and 98), maternal, and a lot of his struggles are very feminine coded (his body forcefully being used for breeding by Knives, his "gate" opening in a very vaginal shape, him turning into an ovum that Knives penetrates, it's a long story), so the headcanon of him having a plantussy has taken off to the point where people have to tag if he has a penis. I really like it tbh, it's really changed a lot of my old biases.

Huh... Stampede sounds wild! I still haven't watched because the style wasn't quite working for me. I do want to check it out, when I get around to it. This is definitely surprising news, lol. I'm glad the fandom broadened your horizons!

You really should! The fandom is super cool (one of the rare modern day fandoms where incest is the second most popular ship and antis have little power) and there's a boat load of great fan content out there! The show itself is pretty good, although tonally very different from the '90s anime. It's kind of like a prequel, closer to the manga lore than the OG anime (which was basically fanfic in retrospect), but still different enough to be its own thing.
