Anyone else got stupid or random questions they need input on? Mine below.

USB cord/charger

I recently got some cute little decorative lights/lamps, but they have USB cords instead of AC cords. The cords are also really short, so I can’t just get a USB/AC adapter and plug it into the wall. I basically need an extension cord. So my stupid question is: I can get a USB charging hub for this, right? I see hubs that plug into AC and have a cord that’s 4 or 5 feet and then a place to plug in your USB devices. The reason I’m not sure about this is because all of these are advertised as charging hubs, and my lights would just be on, not actually charging up. (I’m in the U.S if it matters.)

Mixed fantasy and scifi media, any type. Just looking for some sort of universe that has fantasy and scifi tropes all bundled together.

Personally, after years of anon-posting, I only made a handle after realising I missed the days of more named users. But I’m not great at keeping up with the comm – I’m either distracted or just don’t have much to say about the secrets.

Anyway, I guess I agree. There’s something nice about seeing familiar names. And I hope that these days named users aren’t targets of harassment.

Heat tips

Anyone have good tips for dealing with heat, especially when you really don't enjoy it? I know stay hydrated and all that. But the hundred degree heat this summer is just making me miserable and exhausted and have no energy for anything.

period tracker

The period tracker I was using on my iPhone now wants an email sign-in. I’m inclined to use a new one, on principle.

Personally, while I live in the US, I’m not in a high-risk group. I’m a cis woman and also asexual, so pregnancy isn’t a concern (outside of criminal assault).

Still, I’d love to use a period tracker that is aware of (and takes precautions for) the privacy concerns of tracking such sensitive medical information. Any recommendations?

if it helps, some of us are perpetually logged into one or another RP journal, and even with the login widget it's still easier to just click "anonymous" rather than cycle to a non-RP login. we're logged in, just not...yknow. Obviously.
