The reviewers I watch (Treck Culture; Jessie Gender) are sad about it, though.

I definitely comment aloud when I'm alone and watching things, and honestly it's been so long since I've watched something with another human I fear I may not control the talking. But I definitely would want to.

A few asides are fine or if the other people you're with are okay with it (and you're not in a theater talking loudly enough to disturb other moviegoers). But talking during a watching experience when other people are bothered by it is rude.

Yeah, sorry OP but that would bug the shit out of me. I love discussing shows and movies when they're over and going over all the little bits and pieces. But during something on the first watch? I want to pay attention to it and take it all in. It's one thing if it's a laugh or short comment, but constant talking? Sorry, I wouldn't be able to put up with that.

Sorry, nonnie, I’m with the previous commenters on this. You can either learn to manage that compulsion or leave everyone else to enjoy watching things without you. It sucks because that kind of thing is super hard to manage based on my own experience. I definitely empathise with you! I hope you can find ways to manage it that let you still enjoy viewings with others xx

I do this too when I'm watching movies with certain people. Not all people like commenting with me and I don't like all people commenting (one of my sister is abismal and not funny/insightful because she watches movies while distracted I HATE IT) so it really depends on the company.
I don't talk ALL the time, but often enough. As soon as there is a quite scene or a loud scene with no dialogue we start talking lol
This is actually why I watch movies with people. If I want complete silence I watch stuff alone.

But often enough I comment even when I'm alone, too. Like you! It really depends on how invested I am in the plot or how much I am liking the scenes ahah

So yeah. You're not alone. I'm probably a lite version of you.

I'm honestly just tired of the trope of a female lead needing to have a glow-up to be suddenly desirable by the male lead who've they crushed on. Especially when it comes to issues of weight / body image --- as if anyone outside the mold of conventional prettiness is unworthy of existing and being loved.

You know, now that you mention it, it's not that weird? Because in the first part of the book he's not physically present even though there are references to him being away, etc. and then after he comes home, he's barely there as a character AND they no longer discuss him being away so... Mr. March just blends into the wallpaper.

Oh lol I love this manga! I never would've expected to see a secret here. It was one of my favourite when I was younger.
The art is amazing and there are some scenes that are forever ingrained in my memory.
Highly recommended to everyone liking dystopian stuff, yo!

I can see why you think that, especially for the beginning, but then the story and the themes changes so idk to me it seems like a pointless comparison.
What do you think about the other themes?
Like I remember linking the "brain stuff" toward the end to another piece of media that I now don't remember. Maybe Akira and the new world. ? Who knows what teenager me thought...
But yeah, I know THAT was kind of weak (I likes it but they could've gone harder imho), not the beginning.
The beginning was awesome and I adore the creepy and dangerous atmosphere.
Lord of the flies has very different vibes for me.

Favorite Trek?

For me it's a tie between Voyager and Next Gen. I know a lot of fans would call putting them together some kind of blasphemy, but there it is. I was very excited by Seven of Nine showing up on Picard because then it was two of my favorite characters together! (Picard is Picard and wonderful, and I have a thing for robots/creatures learning to human, or people stripped of their humanity learning to human, so loving Seven was just inevitable.)
