I don't know where you live, but in the us, its almost certainly because it will be seen as niche and/or that the audience is the people with heritage in that culture, which might not be ~broad~ enough, whereas greek/roman stuff basically now belongs to everywhere colonialism has touched.

But I agree and I bet someone could sucker some production company in by claiming they're going to talk about bronze age bible stories.
