2. I felt the same thing last year around the Fall. But after MEPS, they permanently banned me from joining for having excessive refractions or really bad eyesight. I too fear having undergo emotion and physical pressure for 9 weeks and I thought working as Physical Therapist will prevent me from ever being deployed for wars (but I learned it was completely voluntary to go. . .)

And to answer your question, don't feel bad if you wasted the recruiter's time. It's their job. If they failed to recruit you and get $1,000 for your head, then they could move on to the next candidate.

If your parent's is pressuring you to join, don't give in and seek other options. The army will be less torture on your conscious both mentally and emotionally this way. The military should always be your last option.
