Barbenheimer

It’s petty but it makes me ridiculously happy that Barbie crushed Oppenheimer at the box office this weekend.

Has anyone seen either one? What did you think? Anyone plan to see either?

I'm thinking about seeing Oppenheimer a little later down the road, but I'm not 100% sure on that yet. My schedule is a bit packed as it is.

I saw Barbie yesterday and it was amazing. I cried a lot lol.

I was going to Barbenheimer it but Barbie alone was 2hrs, Oppenheimer was 3 hrs, and my chronic pained ass is not gonna survive a movie theatre seat for that long lol.

I want to see Barbie. It looks fun, and I need fun. We'll see if I am able to this coming weekend. I was out of town this weekend.

I kinda want to do the whole double feature thing. As long as the showtimes in my nearby cinema line up so that I can see Oppenheimer first and Barbie second, rather than the other way around.

Oppenheimer honestly seems more like my type of movie, but I was definitely praying for Barbie to do well, since the sexist asshats wouldn't have shut up about it if Barbie had gotten panned and/or crushed at the box office. Also I really like Greta Gerwig's work, and if Barbie had tanked it definitely could have been a significant setback for her career wise, which would've really sucked. I'm glad both movies seem to be doing well, both critically and financially. \o/

Neither for me

I saw Barbie and really enjoyed it. Parts of it made me laugh and it made me wanna dig out all my old (weird) Barbie dolls. I don’t plan on seeing Oppenheimer because it’s not my kind of movie.

Haven't seen either. Might eventually watch Oppenheimer.

I've been banging my head against the riddles and language in Shakespeare's sonnets, and don't currently have much interest to spare for anything else. I know practically everyone with an opinon on the subject says they're very original, but damn ... I was still not expecting his range of subject matter. The "I will immortalize you" theme with the guy who's his boy or friend or boyfriend (depending on how you look at it) gets a little repetitive, but practically everything else makes up for it.

I saw Barbie. I love it. Laughed out loud, cried twice. I want to see it again when it comes to streaming.

I have no interest in Oppenheimer. But if it's really good I'll watch it on streaming because I do not trust Nolan without subtitles. I'm done.

Barbie was brilliant! Ryan Gosling might not have the jawline of a Ken doll, but by jove he did own that role.

I'll see Oppenheimer sometime later. Cillian Murphy is a beautiful, beautiful man and I'm happy he's Nolan's muse or something.

I saw Oppenheimer last night and loved it. Also: I was a bit worried it would be gory, but there's no gore. In case anyone was worried about that.

I'm definitely going to see Barbie but probably when it hits streaming-- I don't trust crowded theaters, everyone's very 'post-pandemic' but I'm compromised and my lungs can't take anything else. I *might* watch Oppenheimer one day but it's not something I'm interested in.
