No, OP is saying the canon is good and the fandom is bad. They're saying they stick to fandoms for bad canons unlike FMA because good canons don't result in good fandoms like bad canons do.

I don't know about the fandom, but the canon is pretty bad. Good ideas sprinkles around, but awful execution.
