(Anonymous) 2023-07-27 12:08 am (UTC)(link)I think I'll go hunt for fic again one of these days.
Also, for once a BL side pairing I like is fairly popular, hooray!

(Anonymous) 2023-07-27 03:52 am (UTC)(link)But on the “discourse” thing I wanna thank you for explaining why some anons… seem to HATE argumentative discourse.
And about that I just have one thing to say - you know ship manifestos are yet another form of fanwork right? Just life fanfic, fanart or what have you.
Some of us aren’t “argumentative” because we want to convince the entire world that our ship is better, it’s just what we feel comfortable doing and maybe we are shit at drawing or creative writing too.

I get that, and yet at the same time, it's not a form of fanwork I enjoy, even if I agree with the points being made. The worst examples feel like making a tedious federal case out of a ship. I put "justification" in quotes for a reason - it because I don't think that's what people are necessarily trying to do when they engage in this type of discourse, but unfortunately, some cases really feel like a long-winded, grasping at straws attempt on someone's part to justify their ship in a court of law.
Not all such meta is like that, of course. Some people manage to do it in a funny, entertaining fashion, and I enjoy that. I think the key (for me) is keeping short and sweet.

(Anonymous) 2023-07-27 11:24 am (UTC)(link)I'm usually someone who is very ???? at ships who never met getting super popular (unless it's clear it started out as a kinda fandom joke and developed from there) but THIS one I support. Have already read fic and regret nothing.
