Kevin Spacey has been cleared of all charges after a four-week trial in London on claims of sexual assault.

Doesn't mean he's innocent, just means either his defense lawyer did a really good job or the prosecutor didn't prove their case. Maybe both.

by all accounts it was mostly the latter, with hopelessly inconsistent and inaccurate testimony from some of the witnesses (one couldn't narrow down the *year* the events took place, while one claimed it happened on the way to a party at elton john's place - elton turned up with photos of everyone who was at the party to show he was never there)

innocent until proven guilty is still a thing, though

Have any of the claims against him anywhere been plausible? The only three I know about are the guy who didn’t know the year, the guy who lied about Elton’s party, and the guy from Star Trek whose story was identical to a scene from a play he’d done as a kid.

FTR I 100% think he’s a creep but so far all the accusations are easily discredited and it’s looking more and more like he’ll get away with it :(

yeah, the 'proof' was really flimsy. There was also destroying a phone with the messages and inconsistencies with earlier testimony.
It's not a great news for the real victims. First Depp, now this.

Spacey isn't innocent, he's not guilty of this specific set of charges. He's still an abuser as far as I'm concerned based on the totality of evidence.

Yeah, I think there was something shady going on with Spacey but not outright r-word and not to these paticular guys. I'm really glad that harassement in shobiz gets addressed. However canceling someone until proven guilty is not right, imo, as it discredits the real victims.
