I don't understand why people choose to go online only to be mean. Why go to a community if all you're going to do is be crabby and mean and stir shit up? I've never understood trolling, it seems kind of psychopathic behavior to me.

Aside from malice, I can see someone doing this out of frustration over only seeing one particular viewpoint in a space. I've done similar things to attempt to keep the conversation from becoming full of sycophantic behavior. (Of course, this tactic works better when the negative/crabby comments have careful phrasing.)

Also, I think sometimes people have trouble managing tone? I might not be thinking of who OP is thinking of, but sometimes text comes across as more blunt and aggressive than might have been intended.
