hmm, i think you're very optimistic about the governments of the world. maybe europe is better/quicker (i know their data safety standards are significantly more robust), but most state (as in national) governments didn't do anything about NFTs even though they were obvious dumbassery, and we were lucky that fad burned itself out. the worry here is that unethical norms will be inculcated before any government gets around to figuring it out. and that's before you get to international law and what happens when standards don't match.

I also think you're overestimating the ability of a royalty process. like....production companies are fighting to avoid numbers on streaming, you think a royalty process which requires hard numbers is going to go well?

I actually hope both your optimism about that is rewarded and we get more understanding laws about art and influences, but fr fr art as a social good is directly against capitalism's ethos.
