The female lead from Maiden Holmes. Sort of. The actress was incredibly demure but the character was working a traditionally male job, first in disguise and then openly after intervention from the Emperor. She kept up the job well after she got what she needed from it, and her clothing by the end was an interesting blend of masculine lines and feminine colours.

All in all, the whole drama was an interesting exercise in 'so you just found out your friend/coworker is living in the closet, what do?' that I liked a lot.


And Shisan/Shishan from Love and Destiny. Character was a merfolk who changed gender when he fell in love... and she then insisted on remaining v. big and burly, but also wearing flowers and pretty dresses while lugging a halberd around. It was interesting because there were other female warriors in the setting, but they were more delicate-looking and just wore plain armour, so Shisan stuck out a lot. And got flack for it, but stuck to her ways. (Yes, I adored Shisan.)
