I used to work in Target's toy department during the pandemic; the amount the Frozen 2 toys had to streeeeeeeettccchhhhhh out the gap between big princess movies when everything was delayed and delayed and delayed is worthy of academic study someday. I have no idea if they were even all that popular, but with little else new coming out, and the live action Mulan and Raya and the Last Dragon not really doing great, Frozen 2 got pushed pretty hard.

It was really weird seeing merch for movies that were clearly expected to be big hits come out early, then just sit there until clearanced out months later, with no movie in sight.
