Monster Sanctuary is as close as I've ever played to a mons game where you can keep that mon you like throughout the entire game. It tries to be balanced such that every mon is viable, even unevolved mons.

Honestly, my sense of game balance is garbage, so I have no idea whether it succeeds at this, but it's definitely trying.

I'll have to check that one out. Thanks!

Same. The first six Pokémon I train are basically what I'll use for my play through, no matter how bad they are or how ill-suited they are to the gym.

It's the same now as I'm playing Digimon Cybersleuth. 3 Digimon (the first three I got) have maxed out friendship values and are digivolved and trained with care. The other twenty or mostly stay on the farm and only get digivolved so I can better choose what to digivolve my beloved critters into down the line.

Same hat. It seems bizarre when I’m playing Shin Megami Tensei advocating for peace and coexistence, while at the same time treating my allies as disposable.

For a rec, if you make a little fire lizard at the beginning of Geneforge, it will eventually get strong enough to bite dragons to death.

I'll check that one out, too, thanks!

Holy crap why I do find that picture so hot?

What is happening to me?

Totally with you on this. I have only ever dipped my toe into the xeno and/or furry pool at most, but IMO the freaky:furry:sexy ratios of that- uh- entity, are very well balanced to keep things interesting.

As someone who only knows Pokemon, the image used for this secret felt like a fucking choice! I realize that the other game you mentioned probably involves weird-sexy creature-people, but just reading the secret, the leap from, like, Charizard, to sexy-animal-person-monster was comedically jarring, lol.

You have no idea how these games portray Mara, do you? Incubus was certainly a choice as well.

(I once saw a pic of Mara captioned “I am the weirdest boner.”)

For the longest time I thought Incubus had his tail curled up between his legs...then I finally noticed it dangling below him. "Oh. ... OH!"

I always kinda liked how in SMT III you're supposed to hold onto your first Pixie and then she gets a glow up near the end of the game (you can fuse her if you want, you just have to hold onto the fusion, but I kept her all the way through). Actually SMT III wasn't bad as far as keeping demons go, I fused Daisoujou as soon as I was able and he stayed in my team until the end because he was too good to get rid of.
