I've always liked Tamora Pierce's Emelan series more than Tortall, and I'm still salty we got a book about Numair of all people instead of the long-discussed one about Tris going to the University at Lightsbridge as a "normal" mage.

While I totally agree with Emelan>Tortall, and think the Numair books are a prime example of a "gift" nobody really wanted (except maybe some super hardcore fans from way back when The Immortals was first published), Emelan hasn't continued because the publisher (different from Tortall) doesn't want it and apparently has some copywrite business that Tammy can't get around.

Oh yeah, I know it's out of her hands and a publisher issue, so I don't want to blame her at all here, but I'm still gonna be salty about it lol.
