Eternals was the first MCU movie since Avengers1 that I actually looked up fanfic for. And so far also the last.

I really liked the movie and the characters and I'm sad too that everyone else seems to hate it. Though I do think it would've been better as a tv show.

I've seen this happen but IME it's like 90% "I mispronounced it by accident but people are commenting on it so I'm leaving it as is and/or turning it into a recurring joke now" and very rarely "I'm gonna say it weird on purpose to fool these foolish viewers, rubbing my hands capitalistically and twirling my mustache"

If they'd made Ikarus the good guy instead of the bitch, then the movie would have performed a lot better. And cut back on the meta jokes, cut way fucking back. Especially the one about Superman.

Or, third option: Youtube for example autoscans and demonetizes videos that mention certain words so certain channels (e.g. a channel discussing news and crime) do it on purpose to avoid being flagged by bots
