Guys, I understand that life can be shitty and going to a con is not always as easy, I really do. But I am just going to laugh in Russian.
Cool, you worry about mass shootings and I worry about drone attacks, my country arresting me for being gay, having no money for mental health situation I am going through, shitty health insurance with doctors going TO FUCKING WAR even the most nazi shitheads never especially wanted. AND on top of that no fan cons. And I am actually pretty privileged more or less.
And I am not just saying this to cry about my sad life, I am saying that a lot of people from all over the world have problems, you are not exactly unique. But you are unique in being language and cultural center of the world. So in some aspects it's easier.
