Isn't he only semi-responsible for one of those Spocks?

He's responsible for the decline of my appreciation of Spock. I love original Spock, and he was fine, I guess, in the first Reboot Trek. But ST:ITD? What the FUCK was that shit? The third movie did some redeeming, but at this point if I never see Spock again (not you, Nemoy, I love you and miss you) it will be too soon.

Alright, sure, I get that. I didn't want to see Into Darkness because it sounded stupid to me, and when it came on TV and I watched the first few minutes, I noped out after deciding I was right. (I did watch Beyond, but years after it was released because of that, still a little miffed because I really liked Beyond.) But I was thinking that the writers (Kurtzman, Orci, and Lindelof) and Quinto maybe deserve at least a little of the blame.

Pretty sure the script didn't specify that Spock had to accept death with arms out like Jesus and snarl when defeating Kahn. Also, directors are called that because, among other things, they direct how actors perform, so I won't blame Quinto for it. That was all JJ. The script was BAD, but the way it was presented was the most egregious.

STID sucked - holy God did it suck, worst Star Trek movie. But it can't take TOS Spock away from me.

And honestly, the Ethan Speck Spock isn't really bad. It's just the writing around him puts too much weight on him. I mean he's no Leonard Nimoy but there's only one of them.
