Weekend Plans

What is everyone doing this weekend?

It is a 3 day weekend for many in the US so I'm visiting my sister. We are going to do something creative (have not decided what). We will also be gaming and relaxing.

Reading, watching movies, sleeping. No one in my family is getting together. And I got my period (damn!) so I'm trying to stay cool in the heat.

The Halloween bug has bitten me early. I might break out what few decorations I have, and maybe go shopping for more. I'm annoyed there aren't more Halloween-themed objects available in stores at the moment, lol. Other than that, it's up in the air.

This weekend is a double game weekend in my town (both universities have home games), so I'll be sticking close to home and probably doing housecleaning and watching movies or TV.

Heading home from my dream holiday. It’s a two day drive and I found a different overnight town than on the outbound trip so I’m excited to see a new place. But I’m also so ready to be home in my own bed surrounded by all my stuff and going about my normal boring daily life.

Tomorrow getting a massage in the afternoon (just head and feet and hands) and then going to see Jurassic Park in the theater. Sunday going to see Dungeons and Dragons. Monday no plans as of yet. Probably watching episodes of House.

Finish wrapping some friends' presents. Ship it out to my friend who lives on the other side of the US.

Do a funeral of sorts for my dad. He didn't die but I'm working on my CPTSD and I'm at the point now where I need accept that I can't ever have a close relationship with him. Going to write my goodbye letter, listen to "Wake Me Up When September Ends", and just cry and feel my feelings.

Go out for lunch with my siblings.

Go out for coffee with a childhood friend, then go to art show and dinner with a friend from high school.

Third time the orthopedic doctor has rescheduled due to an emergency surgery. This time I was sitting in the lobby for a half hour before they let me know.

This is after it took almost 3 months to get a referral from my primary doctor. My knees are so painful right now I'm barely functioning by the end of the day. I'm trying all the at-home things I know to do. I honestly broke down crying when they told me.

I'd find a new doc, but I feel like it would take just as long to get an appointment at a new doc.

My period has arrived two weeks early. It NEVER does that, and I don't know why it's happening now but FUCK, I just went through this a couple weeks ago and now it's here again. I know. I should look into one of those birth control things that prevent you from having a period at all, but goddamn, I hate going to the doctor and I'm under-insured because America sucks.

I work at a souvenir shop in a popular tourist spot in Cornwall. I moved here over 10 years ago from the Midlands, and I genuinely love the area and my job, the shop is beautiful and well-run, I love seeing tourists fall in love with the place and gush about how they'd love to move here.

I don't love being scoffed at because I'm not "from here," don't speak the language fluently (spoiler alert: absolutely no one does anymore), don't "sound Cornish enough", don't "look very Cornish(!?)" and generally being made to feel like a fake for not being born here. It's a really odd vibe sometimes. I feel like some tourists just expect us to dress and speak like pirates every day.

I am always low-key allergic to something. It's low-key so not a medical emergency. But I just don't know what I should stop eating or what I should start cleaning. And sometimes reaction is so mild that I am not sure if it's even an allergy. Especially since I have history of having stress reaction that looks like allergy. Lol
Also when I went to a doctor (some time ago though) all I've got that I should be dieting to stop mild rushes. And allergy diet is a bitch, I don't suppose to eat like fucking anything. Nope, not doing for no reasons.
